ell any of the current ecig hipsters and self-proclaimed vape stars that steeping is often unnecessary and you'll find them staring back at you like you are Morpheus and you've just unloaded the biggest brain-blower of all time. Reviewers need not let their client's eliquid steep for weeks before reviewing. No need to wait before using a new eliquid while it sits with a loosely screwed on cap in your special steeping drawer. Hold onto your drip tips folks, be- cause we are about to send you down the rabbit hole. The truth is steeping is not always necessary, needed or important for the consu- mer and in fact, most of it is done for you. Steeping, in its original sense, refers to the soak- ing of a solid object in a liquid. The purpose is to soften the solid or to extract something from it. Think; tea leaves. When we talk about steeping eliquid, we mean letting it sit, presumably to mix flavors and evoke a different flavor. Therein lies the problem. Not all flavors are meant to be changed. When an eliquid designer does need a steeped flavor to complete his or her vision, they do the steeping. Some eliquids, or so say the creators, are perfect when they put them in your hot little hands. "Steeping can be a very useful tool when, like us, you ship juice around the world on a daily basis." Explains Shaine Lane, manager of Pink Spot Vapors south Vegas location. "When- ever preparing a new flavor for distribution we can and do use steeping to test how a mixture will taste over time. We don't want to mix something up that tastes great initially and then changes drastically by the time it has reached others and is being sold." Eliquid creators want their flavors to stand out. They want to be everyone's favorite. To create something unique that appeals to a wide variety of tastes means a lot of time, re- search and de- velopment must go into the pro- cess first. With that much inves- ted in a product, manufacturers must supply a product that consistently meets the same criteria. Lane went onto say, "Consistency is key when it comes to ejuice. I'm sure you have tried a flavor you love and the next time you grab a bottle of the same flavor it is nothing like you remember. We never want that to be the case with our juice so pre-steeping a flavor can give us peace of mind that our custom- ers will get the same great taste every time."
